St. Mikulas
December 3, 2006 – This is our annual St. Mikulas celebration.

Come and help celebrate this traditional Czechoslovakian holiday.  All interested in Czech and Slovak culture, customs, and history are invited.  Children are especially welcome, since they are the focus of the event.  Please let Jirina La Vine(816-753-2540) know how many children will be attending, so she can prepare each child a holiday basket.

 Cost:  Free

Time:  4:00 PM until 6:00 PM

Activities : Visit from St. Mikulas, the devil, and angel. 
                   Children’s gifts and other activities.
                   Musical entertainment.

Meal:  This event will once again be a potluck affair.  We ask that all attendees bring a dish based on their last name as follows:

                            A – I   -  salad, potato, or vegetable item

                            J  -  R  -  appetizer or dessert

                            S  -  Z  -  main course

Drinks: Alcoholic beverages including wine and  Czech and Slovak beer will be sold by the club.  Soft drinks provided free.            

 Please bring a gift (max. value $10) with your child’s name on it for St. Mikulas to give to your children.  We would also like to ask the children to do a trick or display a talent to earn their gift.  This could be something as simple as a somersault.

 This is also the time of year to renew your membership for 2007(use form bellow or you can join here).  Some of the activities planned for the coming year are as follows:
